Understanding bereavement

Bereavement is the state of mourning after losing someone, especially after the death of a loved one. Everyone experiences bereavement and grief differently. We’ve heard from many people who are bereaved that not knowing what to expect when grieving, or not understanding why they might be feeling or experiencing certain things, adds to their difficulties.

We want our website to be a place where those grieving (and those supporting

others who are grieving) can learn about the psychological factors and common side effects of grief, and how to cope with them.
