SUMMARY:Online grief support bubble– Parent loss to cancer
DESCRIPTION:Theme: This support group is open to anyone who has lost a Parent to cancer \n\n\n\nJoin our online grief support bubble starting on Wednesday 15th October 2025 from 7:00-8:30pm. \n\n\n\nWhat is a Grief Support Bubble? Our Grief Support Bubbles will run in much the same way as our other support groups\, giving you a chance to meet others with a similar loss. The only difference is that the closed groups will allow for the same group of people to meet each month for 4 months. We think this will create a greater opportunity to make more meaningful connections and for people to benefit more from the group process. \n\n\n\nThe dates for this support group are: \n\n\n\nWednesday\, 15 October 2025\,Wednesday\, 19 November 2025\,Wednesday\, 17 December 2025\,Wednesday\, 21 January 2026 \n\n\n\nPlease note you need to be able to attend all sessions to join the group. \n\n\n\nTo ensure that the groups run as well as possible online we will be limiting the number of people able to join the session. We often have more people signing up for each group than there are spaces. We know it is difficult to predict how you will feel on the day itself\, but please only complete registration if you think you will be able to attend. \n\n\n\nThis event is for people aged 18 and over. Please get in touch with us if you are looking for support for children so we can signpost you to other organisations. \n\n\n\nHow will this work?Connect to others who have experienced a similar loss to you by registering for the online support group below. \n\n\n\n\nRegister Here\n\n\n\n\nYou will be sent an email with instructions for joining the video and you can click in at the time of the meeting to get started and meet others. \n\n\n\nPlease note that we are not a crisis service\, so if you are in need of immediate support please do reach out to Samaritans who provide immediate listening support. They can be reached on 116 123. \n\n\n\nMuch like our in-person events\, our online support groups are informal and welcoming\, and the space is there for you to use it as you need it on the day. Our excellent volunteers will be there to welcome you online and support you. \n\n\n\nWe send all participants a short survey after the session to get their feedback so that we can improve our services for all. Thank you for your contribution in helping us improve our support.

SUMMARY:Walk and Talk - Swinley Forest Walk\, Bracknell\, Berkshire - Loss to Cancer
DESCRIPTION:Who is this walk for? This walk is for adults (18+) who have lost a loved one to cancer. It’s a space to connect with others who truly understand\, in a supportive and relaxed environment.. \n\n\n\nWhere will we be walking? The walk will start at Savernake Pond and go around Swinley Forest and back. It will last approximately an 45 mins. \n\n\n\nFeeling nervous? We understand that joining a group like this might feel daunting – it’s completely normal to feel unsure. Many of our walkers have felt the same way at first. Rest assured\, this is a welcoming and supportive space. You can take things at your own pace\, and there’s no pressure to talk more than you feel comfortable. Here is a quote from one of our previous walkers: \n\n\n\n“It was a small enough group that we could engage in deeper conversation. We all went for coffee afterwards. Honestly\, the best grief event I’ve ever attended. Thank you Loss Foundation!!” \n\n\n\nWhat to expect: \n\n\n\n\nA small group of up to 10 walkers to keep things intimate and comfortable.\n\n\n\nA friendly volunteer host who will walk and chat with you\, making sure everyone feels at ease.\n\n\n\nThe chance to spend time outdoors with people who’ve experienced similar loss.\n\n\n\n\nWe ask that you let us know in advance if you’d like to bring a guest (as spaces are limited) and kindly note that pets and children cannot join the walk. \n\n\n\nWhat are the timings for the day?Walkers will be meeting at 10am. We aim to complete the walk around an hour later\, at approximately 11am. This will be a very casual walk. \n\n\n\nWho is the host? Our lovely volunteer Rebecca will be hosting this walk. She will have a yellow Loss Foundation sign and will be wearing a lanyard. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDo I need to be a professional walker?Definitely not. The event is about being together\, spending time with others who have experienced similar things\, and being outdoors. It’s not about being fit or racing. There are a couple of slight inclines so if anyone has mobility issues please let me know in advance and we will find another route.  \n\n\n\nHow do I get involved? To register for this event you will need to complete the registration form below: \n\n\n\n\nRegister Here\n\n\n\n\nYou will be sent an email with full details for the walk. \n\n\n\nPlease note that we are not a crisis service\, so if you are in need of immediate support please do reach out to Samaritans who provide immediate listening support. They can be reached on 116 123. \n\n\n\nPlease note that if we have only one person registered for a walk and talk event we will unfortunately have to cancel the event. \n\n\n\nWe send all participants a short survey after the session to get their feedback so that we can improve our services for all. Thank you for your contribution in helping us improve our support.

SUMMARY:Grief Support Meeting – Words of Healing\, a Grief Writing Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Theme: This support group is open to anyone who has lost a loved one to cancer \n\n\n\nJoin our online grief support meeting on Thursday 2nd October 2025 from 10:00am-12:00pm. \n\n\n\nWelcome to our 2 hour grief support meeting online. This event will involve exploring different writing exercises to help us make room for\, and process\, our grief. \n\n\n\nWriting is an extremely powerful form of processing. Whether you have taken this approach before or not\, this event is open to all.  \n\n\n\nThe event will be led by one of our Clinical Psychologists and take an active therapeutic approach\, which means it will cover some structured content specifically around writing exercises. There will be invitations to explore some writing strategies during the workshop\, and these will be private exercises. Nobody will need to share anything written\, and all exercises are an invitation rather than compulsory. We will also be making room to talk as a group outside of writing. \n\n\n\nAt The Loss Foundation we are committed to providing the best support possible to those who use our services. We know it’s not a one size fits all when it comes to grief\, and therefore we are always keen to learn if and how our support is beneficial. People partaking in our online workshop will be invited to complete some questionnaires before and after the event – all of which are made anonymous. \n\n\n\nHow will this work? You can register to join the grief support meeting by clicking the Registration button below. DESCRIPTION:On Sunday 28th September 2025 we will be hosting an informal walk and talk event starting at Stokesley in North Yorkshire. \n\n\n\nThis event is specifically for people who have lost a loved one to cancer. \n\n\n\nThis event is for people aged 18 and over. \n\n\n\nWhere are we walking? The walk will start near Stokesley town centre and go alongside the River Leven towards Great Ayton and back. It will last approximately 1 and a half hours. \n\n\n\nWhat are the timings for the day?Walkers will be meeting at 10:00am at Stokesley Town Centre. We aim to complete the walk just over 1 and a half hours later. \n\n\n\nWho is the host? Our lovely volunteer Elaine will be hosting this walk. She will have a yellow Loss Foundation sign and will be wearing a lanyard. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDo I need to be an experienced walker? Not at all! This walk isn’t about fitness or speed. It’s about being outdoors\, meeting others\, and finding comfort in shared experiences. Whether you’re a seasoned walker or a total beginner\, you’re very welcome. \n\n\n\nReady to join us?Sign up by completing the registration form below\, and we’ll send you an email with all the details you need to take part. \n\n\n\n\nRegister Here\n\n\n\n\nYou will be sent an email with full details for the walk. \n\n\n\nPlease note that we are not a crisis service\, so if you are in need of immediate support please do reach out to Samaritans who provide immediate listening support. SUMMARY:Walk and Talk - Skipton Castle Woods Walk\, North Yorkshire - Loss to Cancer
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday 16th August 2025 we will be hosting an informal walk and talk event at Skipton Castle Woods in North Yorkshire. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWho is this walk for? This walk is for adults (18+) who have lost a loved one to cancer. It’s a space to connect with others who truly understand\, in a supportive and relaxed environment. \n\n\n\nWhere are we walking? The walk will be through Skipton Castle Woods. The walk will last approximately an hour\, and is designed to be gentle and enjoyable. The walk is on relatively even ground\, but there are some areas where it would not be suitable for wheelchairs. Thank you Loss Foundation!!” \n\n\n\nWhat to expect: \n\n\n\n\nA small group of up to 8 walkers to keep things intimate and comfortable.\n\n\n\nA friendly volunteer host who will walk and chat with you\, making sure everyone feels at ease.\n\n\n\nThe chance to spend time outdoors with people who’ve experienced similar loss.\n\n\n\n\nWe ask that you let us know in advance if you’d like to bring a guest (as spaces are limited) and kindly note that pets and children cannot join the walk. \n\n\n\nWhat are the timings for the day?Walkers will be meeting at 12:45pm. We aim to complete the walk just over an hour later\, at approximately 2:00pm where those who wish to can potentially go for a coffee. \n\n\n\nWho is the host? Our lovely volunteer Josie will be hosting this walk.

SUMMARY:Walk and Talk - Letchworth Garden City Walk and Talk\, Hertfordshire - Loss to Cancer
DESCRIPTION:Who is this walk for? This walk is for adults (18+) who have lost a loved one to cancer. It’s a space to connect with others who truly understand\, in a supportive and relaxed environment. \n\n\n\nWhere will we be walking? The walk will be in the area of Standalone Farm near Letchworth Garden City. It will last approximately 1 and a half to 2 hours\, and is designed to be gentle and enjoyable. \n\n\n\nWhat are the timings for the day?Walkers will be meeting at 1pm. We aim to complete the walk just over an hour and a half to 2 hours later\, at approximately 3pm. This will be a very casual walk over mostly flat gravel paths. \n\n\n\nWho is the host? Our lovely volunteer Amy will be hosting this walk.
