We host informal get togethers for people who are grieving so that they can meet others who have experienced a similar type of loss. The get togethers vary from meeting for coffees, to beautiful city and country walks, to meeting for drinks at the end of the day. We also run online get togethers.
The events are for anybody who is bereaved by cancer or Covid-19 who would like to meet up with others who have experienced something similar.
A few of our team members may be at the events to welcome you and answer any questions you have, but these events are essentially for and led by you. The space is there for attendees to use as they need. Maybe you just want to come along to be around others who ‘get it’ but not speak about bereavement – that is welcome too.
We have learned a lot about bereavement, and one thing we have learned above all others is that bereavement is a very personal experience; as much as some people may have similar experiences, how somebody responds and reacts is a personal thing. Often we do not choose to respond the way we do, it just happens.
Despite the similarities and differences between peoples’ experiences of bereavement, we have had repeated feedback from our members that meeting others who have experienced something similar is a very beneficial activity. So why not help yourself and come along to one of our social events? Click the button below to find out about next events.
The format of the social gatherings may change over time based on your feedback – it is important to us that our services continuously evolve to meet your needs. They will also change according to the weather – if it is sunny we will aim to be outdoors.
