London to Brighton 2024


Those 54 miles have it all… Flats, fast downhills and the challenge of making it over Ditchling Beacon. Take it on with friends or go solo, ride in memory of your loved one, or just for the challenge.

Registration costs £35 and all participants are required to raise a minimum of £350 for The Loss Foundation. All money raised will ensure no one has to face cancer loss alone. Thank you.

BHF London to Brighton – Open for All

The London to Brighton Bike Ride 2023 is a cycling adventure suitable for everyone over the age of 14. Whether you’re a novice cyclist or a seasoned pro, this event welcomes all with open arms.

Families, groups of friends, and even corporate teams can come together to conquer this challenge. You have the choice to ride solo or tandem, and you can opt for a traditional push bike or an ebike, provided that the motor’s power does not exceed 250 watts, and it assists only up to 15.5 mph.

Expect ample support throughout your journey. With 15 convenient stop-off points and a vibrant beachside event village awaiting you at the finish line, you’ll have the perfect place to kick back and relax after your remarkable ride.

For those who may be new to this adventure, our Fundraising Officer, Shelley, participated last year as a novice cyclist and found it both invigorating and challenging. This goes to show that with determination, anyone can take on this incredible journey.

After you’ve purchased your London to Brighton 2024 tickets, please take a moment to check your spam folder. If you find no emails there, kindly get in touch with us at hello@thelossfoundation.org. There may be a chance of an incorrect email address or another issue.

These will be sent around a month prior to riding – we’ll keep you up-to-date with what to expect and when as we get closed to the day.

Riders are required to be at least 14.

The British Heart Foundation (the hosts of the ride) produce a ride guide and route plan every year. As London to Brighton 2024 doesn’t take place until June 2024, these are yet to be produced. They can purchase their tickets at any time and you’re free to ride in as large a group as you like.

Don’t worry – in the event that you miss your ride start time – you’re free to join the next available slot.

The British Heart Foundation London to Brighton event organises a travel service before the ride has started (from 4:30 – 6:30am) as well as after the ride (from 12pm – 8pm), providing a coach and trailer for your bike. In 2023, the service ran from Madeira Drive, Brighton, and dropped off at the start line at Clapham Common. We’ll keep you updated with information about this service for 2024 as and when we receive it.

In 2023, The Loss Foundation used the services of CyCool – a bike taxi service which transports the cycles back to near the start line.

There’s no set departure times for each coach – they will depart as soon as they are full.

Sorry, no – train operators do not not allow you to travel with your bike on the day of London to Brighton Cycle 2024.

No. Travel tickets are non-refundable and non-transferrable. Please ensure you’re buying the correct ticket before completing the purchase.

Yes, there will be. Last year (2023) this date was Friday 5 May 2023. We’ll keep you updated with any upcoming deadlines, including for booking travel.
