Join Our Free Mental Health Awareness Week Webinar

Grief touches every life in different ways, yet it is something many people experience in silence. During Mental Health Awareness Week (Mon 11 – Sun 17th May 2026), we are opening a space for honest, compassionate conversation about grief and its impact on mental wellbeing.

On Tuesday 12 May 2026, from 6:30PM–7:30PM, we’ll be hosting a free online webinar designed for anyone who is grieving or supporting someone through loss. This session is open to anyone who has experienced – and is experiencing – grief and aims to create understanding, connection, and support during what can often feel like an isolating experience.

A conversation on grief and mental health

Grief is not only an emotional experience; it can also affect mental health in profound and sometimes unexpected ways. Feelings of sadness, anger, numbness, anxiety, or even confusion are all common responses to loss. Yet many people feel they must face these emotions alone.

This webinar will explore the relationship between grief and mental wellbeing, offering insight into how loss can shape our emotional and psychological health. Rather than focusing on “moving on,” the conversation will centre on understanding grief as a natural and ongoing process.

Hosted by those with lived and professional experience

The session will be hosted by The Last Foundation’s Founder, Dr Erin Thompson MBE, alongside ambassador Luke Alfano (Too Young To Grieve). Together, they will share both professional knowledge and personal experiences of grief, helping to bring depth and authenticity to the discussion.

Their aim is to break down the stigma around grief and mental health, encouraging open dialogue and reminding participants that they are not alone in what they are feeling.

When Erin created The Loss Foundation, she wanted people grieving to be able to find the support she wished had existed when her dad died.
