Your Voice Can Help Someone Take the First Step

At The Loss Foundation, we know that grief can feel incredibly isolating – especially when it comes after losing someone to cancer. Finding the right support can make a real difference, but too often, people discover us by chance. That’s why we want to share the voices of the people who have already found support with us.

We’re asking anyone who has attended a group, workshop, Walk & Talk, or used our resources to share a short voice note. Your experience could help someone else feel less alone and take the first step towards finding the support they need.

It’s simple to take part – just record a 30–60 second voice note and WhatsApp it to 07482 790 189. Alternatively, you can email your voice note to hello@thelossfoundation.org

You can finish one of these sentences, or share your own thoughts:

  • “Before I found The Loss Foundation, I felt…”
  • “During a group, I felt…”
  • “After attending a support group, I noticed…”
  • “The biggest difference support made to me was…”
  • “If someone has just lost someone to cancer, I’d tell them…”

Your voice note may be used in social media videos, website campaigns, fundraising appeals, and awareness campaigns, helping more bereaved people realise support is out there and that they don’t have to face grief alone.

You can remain anonymous if you prefer, and it doesn’t have to be perfect – even one sentence can make a difference.

Many of the people who now volunteer or facilitate our groups started in the same position as you, seeking connection and understanding. Sharing your experience is another way to continue that cycle of peer support – giving hope, reassurance, and guidance to others who may feel lost.

If you’d like to take part, simply record your voice note and email or WhatsApp it to us. Thank you for helping others take that first step toward connection, understanding, and healing.
